Simplizero Consumer: An initiative to fight climate change

We are in the midst of a climate crisis. Even though there is an ocean of information about the crisis, there are limited ways we as individuals can contribute to the fight against it.

 

Simpli Zero is one such platform that bridges the gap between whats happening and what one can do about it.

The Challenge

How might we enable individuals to offset their day-to-day carbon emissions?

The Solution

A digital platform that enables individuals to fund green projects that aim to reduce carbon emissions, support better communities and shop from carbon neutral brands.

Project Goals

Some facts...

The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of annual global carbon emissions, more than all international flights and maritime shipping combined

Every year the fashion industry uses 93 billion cubic meters of water, enough to meet the consumption needs of five million people.

If demographic and lifestyle patterns continue as they are now, global consumption of apparel will rise from 62 million metric tons in 2019 to 102 million tons in 10 years.

Data associated with user's behaviour, wants, knowledge and drive to contribute towards the environment was analysed and narrowed down using affinity mapping. This method was used to narrow down the information and outline a clear scope.

People strongly believe that it is important to think about climate crisis at an individualistic level and if every individual does a little bit, together it could create a huge difference. 

Although, they are looking for solutions that would enable them to be part of the bigger cause, they want to do that within their comfort space.
